How It Works

Getting connected with Phone Link Wireless is a straightforward, four-step process from checking eligibility to activating your service.

1

Check Eligibility

Use our free online tool to answer a few quick questions about your household’s income or program participation.

2

Apply Online

Complete our secure application and upload documentation showing your program participation or income eligibility.

3

Get Verified

Your information is checked against the National Verifier, the FCC’s centralized eligibility confirmation system, and/or your state Lifeline database.

4

Activate & Connect

Once approved, activate your new or existing device and start using your monthly Lifeline wireless service.

What Is the National Verifier?

The National Verifier is the FCC’s centralized system used to confirm consumer eligibility for the Lifeline program. It checks submitted information against databases for programs like SNAP, Medicaid, and SSI, and can also verify income-based eligibility. In some states, a state-run database is used instead of or alongside the National Verifier.

Using a centralized verification system helps prevent duplicate enrollments and ensures the Lifeline benefit reaches only qualifying households.

What to Expect After You Apply

  • Verification typically takes a short period once all documents are submitted correctly
  • You may be contacted if additional documentation is needed
  • Once approved, you’ll receive instructions for activating your device
  • You can track your application status through your account or by contacting support
